Our story

We built this because we needed it ourselves.

MyVaultedLife started from a real experience, the kind most families eventually face, and from the realization that there was no good tool to help.

A quiet moment of someone reviewing important documents

Searching through filing cabinets. Guessing at passwords. Calling doctors' offices we'd never heard of.

When a family member fell ill unexpectedly, we found ourselves trying to reconstruct a financial picture from bank statements and old mail. It took weeks to piece together what should have been available in minutes.

We looked for something, anything, that could help families avoid that scramble. We found plenty of apps for estate attorneys and financial advisors, but nothing simple enough for a regular person to actually fill in and share with the people they love.

So we built it ourselves.

“Protecting your legacy shouldn’t feel like planning your end.”

David Brown, MyVaultedLife Founder

What we believe

The values behind every decision we make.

Hands writing a heartfelt note

Preparation is an act of love.

Filling in your vault is not morbid. It is one of the most caring things you can do for your family. It says: if something happens, I did not leave you to figure this out alone.

Someone calmly filling out a single page at a kitchen table

Simple beats comprehensive.

We deliberately chose not to build a legal platform or a financial tool. We built something you can engage a bit over time, or all in an afternoon. It's a resource your loved ones will actually be able to use when they need it.

A private moment at a home desk

Privacy is not optional.

Your vault contains some of the most sensitive information in your life. It is end-to-end encrypted: scrambled on your device with a key only you hold, so even we cannot read it. We do not sell it, and we never use it to target you with advertising.

Diverse people gathered around a table

This should be accessible to everyone.

That is why we offer a meaningful free tier. Organizing your most important information should not require a subscription or a lawyer.

A family together at home

Who it's for

Anyone who loves someone they'd leave behind.

Parents with young children: who want someone else to know where everything is, just in case.

Adult children: helping an aging parent get organized before a health event forces the issue.

Couples: who realize one of them handles most of the finances and the other would not know where to start.

Anyone who has been through a loss: and decided they would not put their own family through the same thing.

Our commitment to your security

Your vault is end-to-end encrypted: encrypted in your browser with a key only you hold, so even we can’t read it. We keep ciphertext, not plaintext. The one exception is the final messages we deliver on your behalf, which we describe plainly in our security overview.

We do not share or sell your information. We do not run advertising on the platform. Your vault exists for you and the people you choose to share it with. Full stop.
